Combining the security-centric ethos of Xerox, and our comprehensive software solutions for workflow, RPA, and other office and production print software solutions, Advanced UK has now completed their year-long IT systems upgrade. The first step in certification is the award of our Cyber Essentials certification.
This work has been part of our long-term strategy to provide assurance to our clients - many of which are multi-national corporations - that our systems are robust, and that both their personal data and commercial data are secure.
Our cyber defence strategy is multi-tiered, beginning as it did in 2017 with the most comprehensive application of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to create a compliant position. Every member of staff is briefed on the regulation, and the critical requirement to protect personal data. Of course it goes further: data minimisation, accuracy and retention have also been scrutinised.
We implemented a third-party training program to instil awareness of how our staff might recognise phishing attempts, and implemented the MimeCast email application too. MimeCast helps to defend the Advanced UK on an organisation-wide basis, not by merely screening spam emails, but by prompting users to consider the source - and safety - of emails on an intermittent basis.
Of course we use only Xerox printers - the Xerox Multifunctional Devices (MFDs) are the most secure on the market, protected as they are by both CISCO and McAfee.
From here, we're moving on to Cyber Essentials PLUS, ISO 9000, and ultimately ISO 27001. With such challenging goals, our processes are undergoing transformation too, enabling Advanced UK to deliver the superior customer service for which we are renowned.
